They write, too?
Coach Mike is in a unique position not just as coach and instructor, but as someone who strongly prioritizes longterm player development over today's game performance. He is also an honorably discharged United States Marine, which relates clearly with his discipline and ability to see the game for its patient strategy and character metaphors. After decades of playing, managing, instructing and coaching, Mike has written down his rationale for several areas of knowledge.
Mike's wife, Sara, is a recreational therapist by trade, trained in the science of applying recreational activities of all kinds to the physical, emotional, psychological, and character development of young children. By leveraging an activity like the diamond sports of baseball or softball, and all that goes along with it, there are countless lessons and parallels in communication, respect, social skills, accountability, coping, selflessness, confidence, time management, and more. Sara has so much to share!
