Mark Denomme
Mike - Thank you for spending some time with Charlie Denomme. Your hitting instruction has paid immediate dividends! He opened his season on Sunday against a very strong team from Rhode Island. In the two games, he went 3 for 6, with 4 RBI and a couple runs scored. He hit the ball with tremendous confidence. Two of his outs were probably the hardest hit balls all day – absolute bombs that the OFs were able to catch (thanks to the 300 foot fences and the RI team’s coaches who noticed Charlie’s earlier swings and backed up his OFs accordingly). Charlie’s coach thinks the two balls that were caught traveled well over 250 feet.
More importantly, he looked really good swinging the bat – good balance, head down and confident. Everything he hit was to the gap between CF and RF. So, just wanted to thank you again – he’s a pretty coachable kid and he really wants to succeed. I think you will be seeing him tomorrow, but thought you might want to hear how Charlie put your instructions to work.

“My two youngest sons are now in their 2nd and 3rd seasons, respectively, with the 12U and 15U current Minutemen teams. I have coached over 20 seasons of spring, summer and fall Little League, during which time I've met many fine coaches and investigated and/or participated with many excellent AAU (or similar) programs). For an overall balanced approach where the players have fun while benefiting from top notch, program-wide consistent instruction, nutritional and injury prevention counseling, the latest strength, conditioning and speed training techniques, baseball fundamentals, individual attention to detail and character building, there is no-one I would trust more for my own son’s future development than Mike Freire and his dedicated staff at the Minutemen Baseball program. Please feel free to contact me for a personal reference.

Mike - You and I had a conversation at the beginning of this offseason about your program, which sounded too good to be true. As this is Chris' first season with The Farm/Minutemen, I was apprehensive. I said at the time, "If half of what you say is true, this program will be amazing". I have never seen him work so hard and be so happy to do so; from strength & conditioning, to nutrition, to honing his skills in batting, fielding, and his position as catcher. In addition to the physical demand, the respect for the game and all participants involved has been continuously reinforced.
As a former coach, for competing teams in a youth organization (14 years), I know the importance of good coaching. As you know, players/team members will always replicate the behavior and attitude of their coaches. With that said, Coach Jon has empowered these young players to conduct themselves, during some tough situations, with a demeanor that is beyond their years. I have literally told everyone who will listen to me about his/our experience. I'm blown away by the growth Chris has had both physically and mentally. Your "Core Values" are not just words; I can attest you practice what you preach. You, your coaches, as well as the Physical Therapists at Champion have under-promised and over-delivered!
I hope you (all) are as pleased with Chris' progression as we are. I can't wait to see the metamorphosis over the next few years. That's right, we are in for the long hall. I couldn't, in good conscious, take my son, who loves baseball the way he does, out of such a phenomenal program. Thank you again for all that you and your team do!

Curtis is the most helpful coach I have ever worked with. During hitting hours he gives me constant feedback on my swing while balancing helping out 10 other kids. Though that advice is always great, the hitting group helped me become twice the hitter I was. It’s relaxed, the hours are convenient, and the smaller groups allow us to focus on the more intricate aspects of hitting without worrying about rushing. I always come out of a session a more confident hitter than I walked in and that is defiantly thanks to Curtis Overall I had a great time in Curtis’ hitting group and I will be doing one again.

Over the past weeks, my favorite part about the hitting groups is actually seeing improvement in my swing and mental approach. It’s hard to make adjustments in such a short amount of time but using the sand bats and learning new ideas turned out to be my favorite parts of the lessons. In future lessons, I will focus on making and keeping adjustments while focusing on new concepts. These groups have been very helpful and I am looking forward for more to come.
