Long range development
Minutemen Baseball and Renegades Softball are among the most unique, prolific and dynamic skills development programs in the northeastern United States. Our programs are entirely focused on development, improvement and the overall betterment of our diamond athletes, from the field, to the classroom, to the community.
Our goal is to help young athletes achieve the absolute pinnacle of their baseball potential through an intense, educational and meticulous, year-round training program by introducing them to the fundamentals of "professional" baseball/softball mechanics. Our progressive curriculum model focuses on every aspect of the game, and prepares our athletes to achieve their highest levels of the sport - if that is their goal. The progression of skills within an individual, as well as a full team, can be observed within a season, as well as from season to season.
Being that our goal is skill development, players are traditionally not required to try out each season to maintain their roster spot. They are invited to continue working on their skills as a committed and dedicated diamond sports athlete, in alignment with our core values.

the entire player athlete
We focus on the fundamentals of diamond sports, but also on developing the player as a whole person. It is our belief that player development is a continual process and comes in multiple stages over a few years of commitment. As players develop, many aspects must be taught, including basic physical skills, cerebral aspects of the sport, as well as the mental component of the game. If a player is to succeed at higher levels, this must all be continually reinforced; the player must be dedicated to learning and must be coachable in the short- and long term.
Our program and curriculum are designed by our Director of Player Development, Mike Freire, and will be delivered by a panel of coaches from the first day of training through the final game of the season.
strength training is essential
Imperative training for the diamond athlete is strength and conditioning to improve sport-specific performance. To accomplish this, our Minutemen Baseball teams (13u and older) train with our in-house partner, Champion PT + Performance. The programs are designed by Champion PT + Performance and Dr. Mike Reinold, the former Head Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist of the Boston Red Sox and current Senior Medical Advisor of the Chicago White Sox, and delivered by Champion's strength coaches. These programs are based on the same programs used for professional baseball players in the MLB, and have been proven to increase strength, power and athleticism in our Minutemen athletes each off-season.
